The fishing harbour
Just below the campsite, Port-en-Bessin is one of the leading fishing ports in Normandy, famous for its scallops. Fish market, quays, Vauban tower and a beach between the cliffs: a walk to take on your very first evening.

Five kilometres separate your cottage from the sand of Omaha Beach. Between Bayeux and the D-Day beaches, Portland is a five-star Yelloh! Village campsite open from April to November.
Looking for a campsite in Normandy often means choosing between the sea and sightseeing. In Port-en-Bessin, the question doesn't arise: Portland stretches across wooded parkland above the Channel, with the Bessin cliffs as a backdrop, five kilometres from Omaha Beach and ten minutes from Bayeux. The D-Day beaches, the Pointe du Hoc and the artificial harbour at Arromanches are less than twenty minutes away. The village brings together eighteen accommodation models, from the 3-flower cottage to the large eight-person Premium, pitches of 130 to 150 m², a 2,020 m² water park heated to 30°, a bar-restaurant voted Yelloh! Restaurant in 2024 and 2025, and a rooftop facing the sea. The Leproux family, who run the campsite, wanted it to be family-friendly: their guests give it 9.4 out of 10.
Port-en-Bessin lies between two D-Day sectors: Omaha to the west, Gold to the east. The nearest railway station is Bayeux, 10 km away.
Indoor pool, bubble bath, river, 48 m slide and outdoor Nordic pool, a restaurant, a bar, a grocery shop and fresh bread on site.
April, June, September and October are the gentlest months: quiet beaches, lower rates and the whole region to explore.

Just below the campsite, Port-en-Bessin is one of the leading fishing ports in Normandy, famous for its scallops. Fish market, quays, Vauban tower and a beach between the cliffs: a walk to take on your very first evening.

2,020 m² of water heated to 30°: an indoor pool under the palm trees, a 90 m² bubble bath, a counter-current river, a 48 m spiral slide and a 23 m outdoor Nordic pool. It couldn't care less about the Normandy sky.

For four to eight people, from the 3-flower cottage to the Premiums in the pedestrian area. The Premiums add beds made up on arrival and end-of-stay cleaning; the Nautilhome and the Taos, an oven and a large living room.

For tents, caravans or motorhomes: pitches of 130 m² and more, 16A electricity, water and drainage. The Premiums, of 150 m² and more, have their own private bathroom, a fridge and a barbecue.

Voted Yelloh! Restaurant in 2024 and 2025, it serves lunch and dinner, seven days a week from April to November, overlooking the pond or the pool. Bar, rooftop, grocery shop and fresh bread: you can spend the week without getting back in the car.

Club Kids (5-7 years) and Club Juniors (8-12 years) free all season, playground, bouncy castle, multi-sports pitch and table tennis. In the evening, music quizzes, concerts and dance nights. See the activities.

It's the reservation you hear most often about camping in Normandy: the Channel rarely gets above 18° in August. Hence Portland's water park: an indoor pool heated to 30° under the palm trees, a bubble bath, a counter-current river and a 48-metre spiral slide. Outside, a 23-metre Nordic pool and sun decks with loungers take over as soon as the fine weather arrives. The result: you swim in the morning under cover, visit Omaha Beach in the afternoon, and the weather stops ruling your holiday. Discover the water park.
